Nick Shepherd lives with his wife and their dog Millie (German Shepherd) is a 1923 log home to the west of Ottawa, Canada, on the banks of the Ottawa River. They have three children scattered - one in Guelph, one in Toronto and one living in Oxford, England. They also have three grand-children.

Both Nick and his wife were born in England and came to Canada in the 1970's. Nick had a varied early career before qualifying as an accountant, first in the UK and then in Canada. His career spanned fifty years, during which he had a broad range of experience. For the last 25 years Nick ran his own consulting and professional development company. Increasingly his work moved away from finance and into the human dimensions of organizations.

He has always had an interest in writing, his first (technical) book being written in 1980. His work has taken him across Canada and the USA as well as the UK and many countries in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, South Africa and the Caribbean. His workshops and seminars developed a strong following and he was continually in demand.

Since "retiring" Nick has written prolifically, with the goal of getting the message out about the need to renew and reform the way business is done, believing in a shift to human-centric strategy.
